Disney Bounding is a creative fashion trend that involves dressing in everyday clothing to subtly evoke the appearance and essence of various Disney characters, without wearing full costumes. It’s a way for Disney fans to pay homage to their favorite characters and stories while incorporating their personal style into their outfits.
Instead of wearing traditional costumes, Disney Bounders use color palettes, clothing styles, accessories, and even hairstyles to capture the essence of a particular character. The goal is to create an outfit that is reminiscent of the character’s look and personality, while still being suitable for regular, non-costume wear.
Pro Tip: Disney doesn’t allow costumes outside of the Halloween parties and even those do have guidelines you must follow! You can view details on their costume policies, here.

Still not quite sure what Disney bounding is? Here are a few examples:
If you were Disney Bounding as Snow White, you might wear a yellow skirt or dress with a blue top and a red bow in your hair, which represents Snow White’s iconic color scheme. If you’re inspired by Captain Jack Sparrow, you might wear distressed jeans, a ruffled shirt, a bandana, and some pirate-themed accessories. (While making sure you aren’t breaking any costume rules!).
Disney Bounding allows fans to express their love for Disney in a subtle and fashionable way, making it perfect for everyday wear, Disney park visits, themed parties, and more. It’s a fun and imaginative way to connect with your favorite characters and stories, while also showcasing your own personal style.
Getting Started with Disney Bounding:
The best starting place is picking out your character! Think about the characters that are in each park or your favorite Disney movies. You absolutely can’t go wrong. For my 40th birthday, I decided to bound as Cinderella and it was absolutely the most fun I’ve had taking photos in front of the castle.

Start with your main outfit and then accessorize. For example, when I did Cinderella, I found a simple blue dress on Amazon! It was that really pretty blue color that immediately makes you think of Cinderella. After I found the dress, I added in a tiara and some sparkly shoes to complete the ensemble. I opted not to wear a necklace, but if you added in a choker for Cinderella, that would really add to the vibe!
Capture the Moment:
Quite literally! Make sure you book a Capture Your Moment session at one of the 4 Disney World parks in order to have your Disney bounding memories saved for a lifetime! Capture Your Moment sessions are 20 minute sessions that are done by a Disney photographer! They are $99 for the session fee. If you have the Memory Maker added to your package, the photos they take will ALL be included in your account! If you don’t purchase Memory Maker, you’ll need to order the photos in addition to the session fee. I’ve gotten anywhere from 30-70 photos in a single session, so it’s absolutely 100% worth it!

Should I Keep My Bounding Clothes On All Day?
That is absolutely up to you! I personally prefer to be in biker shorts and t-shirts, so I mainly dress up for photos, but you can really get creative with comfortable outfits that will allow you to stay in them for the entire day and night.

I tend to have multiple outfits to change into for the entire family, mainly because we do open to close, so by dinner time, I usually feel like I want to freshen up a bit. I also like to have back ups in case we get wet on a ride or in the rain before we slip on our ponchos. 👉Grab these wet/dry bags to keep your clothes in!
